Sarah Layton is a family business with a wealth of experience in the jewellery industry, and we pride ourselves on providing a truly first-class customer experience. Perfectly situated in the heart of Whalley, in the picturesque Ribble Valley, our business offers fine diamond and gem-set jewellery, watches and contemporary jewellery brands. With our state of the art on-site workshop and resident goldsmith, we are pleased to be able to offer a range of traditional services, including bespoke jewellery design, jewellery re-modelling, jewellery repairs, watch repairs and servicing, valuations, engraving, watch batteries, and pearl re-stringing.

We are looking for an experienced individual who can demonstrate an ability to work well both individually and as part of a team and feel they can go over and above in order to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

You should have a passion for jewellery and be able to share that passion with our customers in a professional manner where your ability is to sell & not just serve our customers.

E Commerce merchandiser

Role Overview :

The purpose of this job is to get product online. Invoicing, web descriptions and imagery, web merchandising.


Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that new product is online as quickly and efficiently as possible. Using product trackers and intake calendars. Checking placement, descriptions and photos are correct before approving.
  • Analysing reports to understand good and poor performance.
  • As well as with the wider digital marketing teams (PPC, SEO) to ensure that all product related activity from keywords, ranking and links are appropriate.
  • Merchandising the site using manual modification for key product.
  • Site walks throughout the day to raise any potential issues – broken links, incorrect product descriptions, placement, imagery and general housekeeping.
  • Homepage checks after any content changes over all platforms to ensure everything is correct.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:

  • Ecommerce, merchandising and excel experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and work well in a team.
  • An enthusiasm for luxury and designer jewellery brands
